Rural High School Students Understanding of Parental Involvement:A Case Study in Heilongjiang Province

  The purpose of this research study is to explore rural high school students understanding of parental involvement.12 first-grade students in a rural high school in Heilongjiang Province were selected purposefully to participate in individual interviews according to their gender,academic performance and the degree of their parents involvement in education.Line-by-line coding was utilized to analyze interview transcriptions.Four aspects of parental involvement were highlighted by students in their understanding:material,supportive,communicative and environmental.Findings imply that it is highly important for parents to get involved and show willingness in their involvement in childrens education.
