An Analysis of Film Subtitle Translation from the Perspective of Skopos Theory
With the increase of cross-culture communication,more and more domestic films rush out of the country and enter the outside world.At the same time,many excellent foreign films emerge in our country as well.In order to help the audience get the information in a short time and meet the need of foreign audience to appreciate the original movie,the translator of the movie subtitle must build a bridge between two different cultures and languages.This paper analyses the features of translation of film subtitle based on the perspective of Skopos Theory and lists some translation strategies,such as addition,omission and substitution,etc.The paper aims to improve the quality of translation of film subtitle,help the audience to deeply understand the film and promote cultural exchange.
