Synthesis and properties of thermo-and pH-responsive PVA/P(DEA-co-MAA) intelligent semi-IPN hydrogels
A series of temperature-and pH-responsive poly(vinyl a1cohot)/po1y(N,N-diethylacrylamide-co-methacrylic acid) PVA/P(DEA-co-MAA) intelligent semi-IPN hydrogels were synthesized by free-radical copolymerization techniques and semi-interpenetrating polymer network techniques.The effects of the feed components,temperature and pH on the swelling behavior of the hydrogels were studied in detail.This unique property makes them very useful for biomedical applications such as on-off switches for modulated drug delivery and tissue engineering.With the increase of PVA content,the thermo-and pH-responsive of the semi-IPN hydrogel improved.
