DRYING OF BROWN FLAXSEED (Linum usitatissimum L.) IN FIXED AND FLUIDIZED BED

　　The drying of flaxseeds was analyzed in this study,with focus on the comprehension of the transport phenomena involved in the process.Fluid dynamic experimental data showed that the non-spherical shape of flaxseed was an important parameter.Drying results showed that the thin layer thickness for flaxseed at 50°C was in the range of 3 to 5 cm,whereas for higher temperatures (65°C and 80°C),the thickness was equal or above 5 cm.Typical exponential drying models were fit with good agreement with experimental data.
