MOISTURE DIFFUSION PREDICTION OF SOLID WASTES DRYING IN THIN LAYER
This work presents a study of the mass transfer established during citric solid wastes drying in thin layer.Effective diffusivity was estimated based on the diffusion theory for situations when it is considered both a constant or variable parameter. In the latter case, the influence of operational conditions on the coefficient was evaluated,as well as its dependence on solid moisture content and on drying time, through the employment of neural networks, correlations proposed by literature, and quasi-stationary formulations.Simulations were evaluated by comparing predicted data to observed ones.
