DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION OF A MIXED AND ACTIVE SOLAR DRYER WITH VARIABLE INCLINATION

  In current research,a mixed solar dryer with variable inclination has been developed.Using the energy of radiation with maximum efficiency is a great deal.If the tilt angle of collector can be changed,solar dryer will be practical for all zones and seasons.A new mechanism was designed to change inclination angle in order to receive the maximum radiation in every conditions.The tilt angle of collector can be changed from 20 to 45 degree.A data acquisition system records variation of temperature in different parts of dryer during experiments.Evaluation of apparatus was achieved in three levels of air flow velocity; 1,2 and 3 m/s and two levels of tilt angle of collector; 30 and 45 degree in summer.For this target,variation of moisture content of apple slices with 3mm thickness was studied.Results indicated when air velocity was 1 m/s and tilt angle was 45 degree,drying rate increased.
