RESEARCH ON MAXIMIZE THE EFFECTIVE HEATING AREA OF THE PLATE DRYER
The effective heating area of the plate driers is the highest of all conductive dryers and it is up to 100% in theory.However,the improper design of blades existing in practice reduces the effective heating area to less than 50%.A lot of bare area appeared on the plate reduces the dry ability and thermal efficiency of the plate dryers.A design method of blade,called as the equal-area method,was proposed in this paper to maximize the effective heating area of the plate dryers based on the theoretical analysis of the movement of the particulate materials.Some field tests were conducted to verify the feasibility of the blade design method and it was found that the blade designed according to the equal-area method and correlation formulas improve the effective heating area largely.This design method can be applied directly to equipment design and site parameters adjustment.
