CFD PREDICTION OF THE MACRO-STRUCTRURE OF GAS-SOLID FLOW NEAR THE PARTICLES FEEDING IN A RISER FOR DRYING CONDITIONS
The goal of this manuscript is to analyze the structure of air-solid diluted flow in a riser by 2D and 3D eulerian simulations (CFD,Fluent 6.3(○)).Fluidynamic simulations were performed considering drying conditions.Solid mass flow rate was acquired experimentally for spherical particles (1mm averaged diameter) in a riser (2 of diameter nominal).2D simulations indicated a core-annulus-wall structure with an unstable wall ring and also the presence of pulses of solid phase in flow. However, this structure wasn’t verified in 3D.The 3D simulation also presented higher concentration of solids in the opposite wall to feeding pipe.
