LOW TEMPERATURE DRYING KINETICS FOR SLUDGE FROM MANURE TREATMENT PLANTS
The topic of this paper is the presentation of experimental drying kinetics and a heat and mass transfer model for sludge in several configurations of air characteristics and bottom temperature.A drying experimental bench is especially designed to study low temperature sludge drying.Literature gives different values for sludge properties which are necessary to the understanding of the various phenomena taking place during drying.Experimentations are led in order to determine those properties such as water diffusivity,activity and shrinkage.Values obtained allow building a numeric model,results of which are compared to the drying kinetics.Experiments serve both as a data source and a validation reference for simulations.
