EFFECT OF ELECTRICALLY CONDUCTIVE BEADS ON THE ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD DISTRIBUTION IN A MICROWAVE CAVITY
Non-uniformity is a major drawback in microwave applications, mainly due to the non-uniformity of electromagnetic field distribution in the microwave applicator. In this paper, the uniformity of the electromagnetic field distribution is aimed to improve by the random reflection of electrically conductive beads placed in the microwave cavity. And we numerically investigated the effect of the position, size and numbers of the electrically conductive beads put in the cavity on the electric field distribution by using COMSOL-Multiphysics software, and verified the rationality of the model through experiments. It was concluded that the reasonable placement on the electrically conductive beads greatly improved the uniformity of the electric field distribution in the microwave cavity.
