SIMULTANEOUSLY DRYING AND RECOVERY OF BIO-PRODUCTS FOR INDUSTRAL FOOD WASTES USING LIQUEFIED DIMETHYL ETHER

  Three main industrial food wastes: spent coffee ground,tea leaves,and orange peel with high-moisture were dried by using nontoxic liquefied dimethyl ether (DME) at room temperature.Approximately,5.0%,10.0%,and 11.9% percents water were remained in the bio-solid after DME drying.The calorific values of bio-solid are between 18.7-24.3 MJ kg-1.This method also produces 16.8%,16.2%,and 6.2 % (dry basis) of organic extracts as byproducts through the drying process.The characteristics of byproducts were analyzed by GC-MS; it was found that the lipids represent major components of extracts of coffee ground.
