ONLINE AIR HUMIDITY MEASUREMENT AND ANALYSIS IN A PNEUMATIC DRYING PROCESS
The pneumatic drying is widely used in industrial drying process.The temperature and humidity of drying medium are key factors which affect the product quality.The measurement and analysis on air properties is the basic of characterizing of drying process,which is beneficial to optimize the parameters in the pneumatic drying process.Currently,although several main methods are used to take measurement of humidity in pneumatic dryers,it is difficult to use them directly to estimate the change of hot air humidity and for feedback control due to the poor accuracy of measurement for the small changes in hot air humidity.In this study,an online measurement approach to air humidity of batch pneumatic dryers by separating and measuring water content of the drying gas is presented for the first time.The air humidity was calculated by physical equation,and the relationship between humidity and processing parameters was also investigated during pneumatic drying process.Developed measurement device for temperature of drying gas was suited for higher than 160℃,and for higher than 30% of moisture content.The values obtained from the industrial product line test showed that the instrument precision improved with the increase of temperature and humidity.The results indicated that the device proved to be very useful in online measuring and analyzing humidity in a pneumatic drying process.
