MODELING THE SOLAR COLLECTOR FOR DRYING AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS
Geographical location of Ghana provides uniform radiation throughout the year.Solar energy offers a relatively cheap source of energy.A solar collector system is designed in combination with a small scale adsorption dryer system to dry agricultural products. The effect of air flow rate, length of collector, air depth and tilt angle on the energy uptake and output air temperature is derived from a model.Increased air depth and speed caused a decreased air temperature, while an increase in absorber length resulted in increased air temperature.Collector tilt affects incident radiation while average day long efficiency is 0.46 at heat removal rate of 0.82.
