Effects of Supplemental Different Light Qualities on Cold Resistance of Cucumber Seedling
The aim of this experiment was to investigate the effects and mechanism of different light qualities on cold resistance of cucumber seedlings.With not supplemental light at night as control,the effect of supplemental different light qualities at night on cucumber seedlings under low temperature (15℃) stress were studied.The results showed that supplemental different lights at night were beneficial to increase stem diameter,fresh weight,seedling index and root activity.Cold stress increased soluble sugar content and antioxidant enzyme activities,decreased protein content and root activities of cucumber seedlings of all treatments,and the maximum increase and the minimum decrease appeared in treatment of supplementing blue light.It can be concluded that supplemental blue light at night can promote the growth of cucumber seedlings,improve the cold resistance by increasing seedling index,soluble sugar content and antioxidant enzyme activity,and inhibiting the decrease of soluble protein content and mot activity.
