A New Floricane-fruiting Hybridberry (Rubus sp.) of Jiangsu Province,China

摘要：

　　‘Boysenberry was an excellent blackberry cultivar introduced into China with good adaptability and economic performance except lot of cane prickles.By using root irrigation with mutagenic agent paclobutrazol on ‘Boysenberry plants,one almost thomless mutation primocane was obtained and then propagated with tissue culture and curing.The propagated plants were tested in multiple sites and had prominent characters such as high yield,early ripening,large fruit,good quality and rich fragrance similar to raspberries (Rubus idaeus L.) and,especially,had few cane prickles.It passed through Jiangsu Provincial Committee of Crop Variety in 2010 and was named ‘Ningzhi 1.It was a new floricane-fruiting hybridberry (Rubus sp.) and the first cultivar to be released from blackberry and raspberry breeding program in China.
