Effects of Water Stress on Dry Matter Distribution of Two Stock-scion Apple Seedlings
In order to study the dynamic changes of dry matter accumulation of two stock-scion apple seedlings aboveground and underground parts, and to compare the diversity of dry matter distribution between them,an experiment with two types of stock-scions and different water stress was carried out in a waterproofed shelter from April to November in 2011.It was randomized block design with two factors (scion / rootstock combinations, moisture).Moisture had four treatments,70%-85% (CK) of field maximum moisture capacity (27.15%),55%-70% (LWS),40%-55% (MWS),and 25%-40% (HWS).With the water stress time going on,the aboveground biomass, underground biomass, total biomass and the root-shoot ratio of two different stock-scion apple seedlings in different water conditions all presented a gradual increase trend, and the biomass accumulation rate became gradually smaller and the root-shoot ratio became gradually larger with the enhance of water stress. The root-shoot ratio of KM and KP under water stress increased by 5.16% and 16.90%,15.50% and 24.10%,29.31% and 36.71% than CK,respectively. The root-shoot ratio of KP was 6.01%~18.18% higher than that of KM under the same water treatment.
