Analysis of Differential Proteins Expressed during Flowering Stages in Mulberry
In order to explore the molecular mechanism of mulberry floral development, total proteins were extracted from different periods of spikes, then isolated by SDS-PAGE (1-DE) and identified based on mass spectrometry technology and database retrieval. The results showed that the differential protein bands consisted of ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase large subunit, adenosine triphosphate (ATP) synthase and other proteins. These proteins up-regulated expressed in late developing period of the pistillate flower, which is extremely beneficial for the photosynthesis and energy metabolism in mulberry floral organ. The results provide new information for understanding the molecular mechanism of mulberry flowering.
