Effect of Calcium on Photosynthesis of Tomato under Low Light Intensity
The purpose of this paper is to clarify the mechanism of calcium on the function of photosynthesis in tomatoes under low light intensity and to provide some theoretic bases for searching an effective way to alleviate the resulted injuries.Plants were grown in nutrient solution with four different Ca2+ levels for 11 days.Plant growth and net Photosynthetic significantly decreased on Ca2+-insufficient nutrient solution,as well as ΦPS Ⅱ.In Low Light Intensity, net Photosynthetic with different Ca2+ levels decreased, but there were no obvious differences between them There was stomatal limitation under low light intensity. And a decline in Gs was responsible for the decline of photosynthesis.Besides,Ca2+ played a positive role in alleviating the effect of low light intensity on the photosynthesis of tomato seedlings.
