Changes of Photosynthetic Pigments and Proteins from the Leaf Color Mutant in Mulberry
To analyze the physiological and biochemical variation between normal and leaf color mutant (Cty-Sm)in mulberry, the photosynthetic pigments were extracted from the leaves of the leaf color mutant and control mulberry and the photosynthetic pigments contents were determined, then the protein were extracted and analyzed through MS/MS.The results showed that the contents of chlorophyll a,b and carotenoid in mutant leaves decreased significantly; the chlorophyll a was only 5.4~10.2% of the controls, which directly led to the leaf etiolation, meanwhile the proteins of the leaves were isolated through Gel electrophoresis and identified by mass spectrum analysis technology.16 differential expressed protein bands were detected, and the contents of large and small subunits of Rubisco and LHC Ⅱ decreased, which suggested that the leaf etiolation was related to the photosynthetic carbon assimilation and differential expression proteins of chlorophyll.
