Influences of Ca2+ and Calmodulin in Jasmonate-induced Defense Reaction in Pea Seedlings
The role of Ca2+-CaM system in the jasmonate-induced defense response was studied using pharmacological methods on pea seedlings.Lower Ca2+ level and inhibition of CaM activity can be part of or all the elimination of jasmonate-induced PAL activity improvement and H2O2 accumulation.H2Oz-induced PAL activity improvement was also inhibited. It was showed that Ca2+ and CaM were jointly involved in jasmonate-induced defense reaction, and played an important role in the upstream and downstream of H2O2 signaling.
