Effects of Calcium Chloride Application on Postharvest Quality and Vast Life of Iris Cut Leaves

　　In order to retard leaf yellowing of four Iris cut leaves (Iris lactea Pall.var.chinensis,Iris sanguinea,Iris pseudacorus,Iris halophila),the process of senescence and the effects of three concentrations of Calcium Chloride (500,1000,1500 mg·L-1) were investigated by testing malonaldehyde (MDA) and free proline content.In order to determine effectiveness of CaCl2,fresh weight rate and chlorophyll content were also tested.The results showed that 1000 mg.L-1 and 500 mg·L-1Calcium Chloride could increase chlorophyll content of Iris lactea and Iris sanguinea during vase life.1500 mg·L-1 CaCl2 could prolong the vase life of Iris pseudacorus.1500 mg· L-1 CaCl2 could control the MDA content of Iris halophila in a low level.Iris lactea showed the best preservation effects,while the leaf aging of Iris pseudacorus was the fastest of the four.
