APPROXIMATE CALCULATION on DEFLECTION OF REINFORCED CONCRETE BOX GIRDERS CONSIDERING THE EFFECT OF SHEAR LAG AND SHEAR DEFORMATION
Based on the transformed section and equivalent stiffness,an approximate method suitable for hand calculation is proposed to calculate the deflection of reinforced concrete box section girder after crack.The effect of shear lag and shear deformation could be included in by this method.A detailed example which to explain the method is given and the calculation results are compared with the method in which the effect of shear lag and shear deformation is not to be considered.At last,the calculation results are compared with the experimental data too.It shows that only consider the cracking effect,regardless of the shear lag and shear deformation will allow deflection calculation results of small.The deflection calculation of reinforced concrete box beam should consider the effect of shear lag and shear deformation.
