THE EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH ON FLEXURAL PERFORMANCE OF CLT DECK
Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) deck is a kind of innovative engineered wood product that would be used in bridge widely.And many positive results had been gotten by some researchers and organizations in foreign countries.CLT deck is usually made of odd number of wood layers glued or nailed together in a cross-layer pattern,where each layer is oriented orthogonal.The advantages of it are obvious,such as efficient weight-strength ratio,pleasant appearance and biaxial mechanical capability and so on.In order to study the flexural capacity of the deck,two groups of specimens of CLT deck with two different set-ups were tested.The failure modes,load-displacement curves and combination coefficient were studied in this paper.In addition,the combined action of CLT deck was discussed using the load-displacement curves.The results show that:1) CLT deck would be widely used in the future; 2) It should do the best to avoid the timber contains defects placing on the top and bottom of the CLT deck during fabrication.; 3)The nailed decks have higher strength than glued ones; 4) the failure of the decks occur in the tension zone mostly.
