SIMPLIFIED CALCULATION FOR THE STIFFNESS OF R.C.SIMPLE-SUPPORTED CRACKED BEAMS UNDER UNIFORM LOADS

  The calculating to get the curve of bending moment-curvature of the reinforced concrete beam section is programmed.Using the program,the cracking moment,yield moment,ultimate moment and the corresponding curvatures respectively of R.C.beam sections with different concrete strength,size and reinforcement ratio are obtained.Based on the three group of values obtained,the curve of bending moment-curvature is simplified into a triple line.Section stiffness is varied along the axis of the beam after cracking,that is,the cracked R.C.beam can be treated as a non-uniform beam.According to the equivalent principle of the bending strain energy between uniform beams and non-uniform beams,the equivalent stiffness of non-uniform beams is obtained.The simplified calculation formula,drawn form calculation results,for the stiffness of the R.C.simple-supported beam under uniform loads is given.
