COMBINATORIAL INNOVATION IN BRIDGE SEISMIC RESEARCH

  The independent innovation ability of the research institutes in China is weaker and the research fund is lower than that in developed countries.Therefore,a vital issue for the Chinese researchers is how to make a well selection of research topic and conduct an effective and meaningful research under the limited fund.In this work the summarized theory,origin of the ideas and application process of the combinatorial innovation are introduced.The example of combinatorial innovation:the integration of elastic cables with other components is given to introduce how to practice the combinatorial innovation.The philosophy of combinatorial innovation is put forth here in the hope that it could generate more discussion and inspire more innovations and contributions of the researchers in earthquake resistant research for bridges.
