WIDE BEAM CIRCULAR POLARIZATION ANTENNA WITH SELF-IMPEDANCE MATCHING STRUCTURE FOR SATELLITE COMMUNICATION
In this paper,a wide beam circular polarization (CP) antenna with self-impedance matching structure is investigated for satellite communication applications. The antenna consists of four radiation patches which are fed as well as fixed by two pairs of cross coaxial lines. And the cross feedlines constitutes a balun.A novel self-impedance matching structure, which is composed of four rectangular open circuit patches,is employed to improve the antenna performance. For the proposed design,a large CP bandwidth, determined from 1-dB axial ratio (AR),as high as 39.8% (2018-3021 MHz) is obtained at boresight. The 3-dB beamwidth is greater than 90°and the antenna gain is more than 4.5 dB over the CP bandwidth.
