A BIO-INSPIRED DISTRIBUTED OBJECT-TRACKING APPROACH IN WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKS
Target tracking with the wireless sensor networks (WSN) has been an issue with plenty of potentiality and challenge. The rapid development of the biology has created a new way for extracting natural regulating mechanisms. In this paper,a novel bioinspired distributed object-tracking approach (BDOA) based on the information circulating principle of the endocrine system of human body is proposed. The decentralized nodes can tune themselves spontaneously by exchanging information among their local neighbors.A probability-based scheme for the information exchange is introduced to guarantee the persistence of tracking towards invading objects and inhibit the status fluctuation of the network.Simulation shows that this decentralized network with the proposed BDOA can work in a stable status without guidance of central commands. For the tracking performance, the proposed BDOA outperforms the other algorithms and the tracking mission against the invading object can be accomplished more efficiently and persistently.
