Feature Extraction and Target Recognition of Missile Targets based on Micro-motion

The ballistic targets flying in the exo-atmosphere have different micro-motions,the micro-motion of warhead belongs to precession and that of decoy belongs to wobbling or tumbling. This paper investigates the micro-motion difference of warhead and decoy.First,we build the micro-motion model of precession, wobbling and tumbling, derive the micro-Doppler expression and analyze the characteristic of it.Second, with the broadband echo of the microwave anechoic chamber,we analyze the distribution characteristic of the high-resolution range profile (HRRP) serial under different micro-motions,judge whether or not the target is tumbling by finding whether there are intersections in the HRRP serial, and derive a method to estimate the top angle of the tumbling cone.Third,we simulate the time-frequency distribution(TFD) of one range cell of the broadband echo, and analyze the TFD difference of precession, wobbling and tumbling. At last,we put forth a method to recognize the target based on the HRRP serial and the TFD,and the experiment results proved our method to be effective.
