‘Reductionistic and ‘Holistic Views to Resource-based Theory (RBT):A Review on the Literature and the Future Studies

　　Resource Based Theory (RBT) has become an acceptable and valuable theory to describe the importance of resources and capabilities in making high performance1.Our extensive literature review shows that there are two main approaches on RBT.The first traditional one is called ‘reductionistic approach 2,in which a linear,often bivariate association between resources and/or capabilities and performance has been examined.According to Meyer,Tsui and Hinigs2reductionism is defined as an approach whereby researchers seek to understand the behave our of a social entity by separately analysing its constituent parts.
