A Cross Cultural Comparison between India and Australia

  India was one of the worlds fastest growing large economies between 1994 and 2006.There has been significant business development in India over the last decade.With this in mind it has been predicted that Indias emergence as a major economic player in the Asian region with a growth rate of over Nine percent last few years-the second highest growth market in the region,after China-has flowed onto the bilateral trade relationship with Australia.This research will explain the main cultural differences between India and Australia.It is important for the Australians companies which go to expand their business in India to understand that Indian Culture is different than Australians.India is a huge country with a multitude of under cultures; we are going to explain the main differences by using the Hofstede studies.In these studies it appears that these two countries are really different.A case study will be provided for the first part.The research on India work culture aspect contains a cultural analysis from micro view of India by analysing corporate culture and major cultural factors in India.It is hoped that this information will assist to broaden their understanding of counterparts behaviours or reactions.The later case studies would be carried who would give an overview of the report by giving examples of successful Australians companies which opened some business in India.
