Does Exporting Improve Productivity? Test on Chinas Manufacturing Firms

　　We analyze whether firms gain productivity premium through exporting in Chinas manufacturing sector over the period from 2004 to 2007 after controlling selection bias and simultaneity bias.We confirm that exporters in China,just as in other countries,are more productive than non-exporters.We use the ratio of export to turnover as the measure of export orientation and find firms exporting activity has insignificant effect on its productivity growth which could be interpreted by Chinas processing trade pattern.
