On the Promotion of the National Soft Power in International Tourism and the Ways and Means of Its Realization
In the era of globalization,national soft power is of great strategic significance in intemational competition.As a transnational cultural exchange activity,international tourism is a double-edged sword in improving national soft power.Through inbound tourism and outbound tourism channels,both positive and negative information on the state entities are delivered directly to the inbound tourists and the inhabitants of outbound tourism destinations,from which images of a specific country are processed and developed.Through the social communication activities of the two groups,the particular image of a nation will be spread to a wider international range of peoples.International tourism marketing and communication activities,international tourism products,tourism service facilities,tourism service places and service behavior,as well as the national outbound tourism behavior are important factors affecting a countrys international tourism soft power.Government should strengthen its intervention with these elements so as to improve the soft power of the state.
