Fabrication of PDMS thin films based on Magnetorheological elastomer

  MRE is a new branch of MR materials whose mechanical property can be changed quickly and reversibly by the application of an external magnetic field 1.In this paper,we fabricate Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) thin films based on Magnetorheological elastomer (MRE) using the spin coating method,then we observe the microstructure with an optical microscope and measure the thickness of the films with a profilometer.Finally we obtain the films having chain-like structure which can be considered as anisotropic MRE.
