New epidermal material of the two subgenera of Czekanowskia from the Jurassic of Inner Mongolia,China
A new cuticular study of Czekanowskia from the Middle Jurassic of Inner Mongolia,China is reported in this paper.Following the taxonomic proposal of Samylina and Kiritchkova (1991),two new species,Czekanuowskia (Harrisalla) chinensis sp.nov.and Czekanowskia (Vachrameevia) shiguaiensis sp.nov.,were identified and described for the first time. The former species is amphistomatic in cuticles with stomata arranged in bands; while the latter one is hypostomatic, with stomatal bands only in the lower cuticles. The authors also discuss the main developmental features of Czekanowskia in the North Hemisphere including China during the Mesozoic tim and its significance for the paleoclimatic study.
