Fabrication of chromizing coating and comparative research on corrosion resistance with 13Cr stainless steel in CO2-saturated simulated oilfield brine
In order to enhance the surface properties of P110 oil casing tube steel and increase its life-time during operation, chromizing coating was fabricated by pack cementation.Scanning electron microscope,X-ray diffraction and energy dispersive spectrometer were used to investigate the surface morphology,cross-sectional microstructure, phase constitutions and element distribution of the coating.Comparative research on corrosion resistance between chromizing coating and 13Cr stainless steel in CO2-saturated simulated oilfield brine was carried out via electrochemical measurements. The results showed that the obtained coating was uniform and compact, mainly consisted of MxCy and doped with minor Cr2N.Chromizing treatment made it possible to create on the working surface of Pll0 steel with enhanced corrosion resistance, and the chromizing coating indicated lower pitting corrosion sensitivity than that of 13 Cr stainless steel.
