The Experimental Study on X70 Steel Corrosion at 120 day in H2SO4 Contaminated Soil
In order to simulate and study the X70 steel erosion effect process in H2SO4 contaminated soil,a series of indoor tests will be conducted on the X70 steel samples after corroding 120 days buried in four mass contents H2SO4 contaminated soils. The soil test results show that the soil density, water content and pH value decrease while the void ratio, salt content, rate of containing gas and electrical resistivity increase with the increase of the mass of H2SO4 of contaminated soils. While, the X70 steel samples rate of mass loss and corrosive rate increase with the increase of the mass content of H2SO4 and the samples surface are covered corrosive resultant of brownish red, maroon and black with lotus flower or fester appearance, and the partial area surface is falling off with circular or oval shaped. Finally, the models are set up based on the relationship of the rate of mass loss/corrosive rate and rate of containing gas,pH value and electrical resistivity and the model may be used in practical design.
