Preparation of active ceria and its desulfurization properties

  Active ceria supported on γ-Al2O3 was prepared by impregnation with different ceria loadings.XRD analysis experimental results showed that the dispersion threshold of ceria supported was 0.125g ceria/g(γ-alumina) i.e.,(0.125CeAl).Monolayer coverage and crystalline state of ceria would appear when ceria loading amount was below and more than dispersion threshold.TPR analysis experiments showed that 0.03CeAl was hard to be reduced with a wide reduction temperature range,and reduction temperature range of 0.45CeAl was in accordance with that of pure ceria.No step-reduction was found during the reduction of 0.03CeAl,0.45CeAl and pure ceria.With increasing ceria loading amount sulfation reaction rate increased and then dropped,and the optimal ceria loading amount was 0.03CeAl.During sulfation weight gain of 0.03CeAl increased with increasing temperature.
