Effect of Aqueous Epoxy Resin on Electrical Properties of Carbon Nanotubes Cement-based Composites

  The porous cement-based composite is commonly simplified to in-series or paralleled resistors and capacitors when electrical analysis.Aqueous epoxy resin (EP) has good compatibility to aqueous material,and superior moisture-insulation after hardened.In this work,some multi-wall carbon nanotube (MCNT) aqueous dispersion was stirred in aqueous EP,subsequently high-shear mixed into cement matrix,to fabricate four groups MCNT/epoxy resin/cement composite (MCNT/EP/CC) specimens with varied weight concentrations of MCNT (wMT) and 0.2 constant polymer cement ratio (P/C),along with the referential EP/CC composite with the same wMT & P/C.DC resistivity (ρ) & AC paralleling capacitance density (Cdp) under 20 kHz of the 28d-cured nanocomposites and the reference were characterized via a LCR meter.Results show,although the ρ and Cdp of the corresponding composite are much higher than those of MCNT/cement composite with the same wMT,the ρ and Cdp of the composite are almost time-independent,and significantly alter with wMT.With the wMT ranging from 0 wt% to 0.6 wt%,the ρ and Cdp of MCNT/EP/CC reaches the lowest and values (139.6 kΩ.cm,0.453 nF/cm2) at 0.3 wt% wMT,respectively.Microstructure reveals well compatibility and distribution of cured EP amongst the corresponding cement matrix even with highest wMT.These consequences indicate good stabilization effect of aqueous EP for the electrical-subjected cement-based composite in exposure environment.
