The Preparation and Characterization of Fe3O4/Au Nanoparticles Modified by Chitosan

  Chitosan is a natural polymer with reduction property,and has good biocompatibility.In the present work,chitosan was used as a reducing and protective agent to prepare Fe3O4/Au hybrid nanoparticles through chemical reduction method in the presence of Fe3O4 nanoparticles.This approach did not contain any toxic materials.And the process is a simple and green route to prepare multi-functional composite nanoparticles.UV-Vis spectrum of the composite nanoparticles had a absorption peak at 535nm which was similar to Au nanoparticles.TEM showed that the nanoparticles had a diameter of ca.20nm and dispersed uniformly.In XRD spectrum,the peaks of Au and Fe3O4 were both observed.XPS and FT-IR indicated the nanoparticles were modified by chitosan.And TGA showed that the amount of chitosan was about 18.7%.
