Effect of annealing on corrosion behavior of the cold-swaged Ti-Nb-Ta-Zr-O alloy
The microstructure, texture and corrosion behavior of a multifunctional β Ti-23Nb-0.7Ta-2Zr-O (TNTZO,mole fracture,%) alloy under cold-swaging and different annealing conditions were investigated by optical microscopy,EBSD,open circuit potential and potentiodynamic polarization. The results show that the cold-swaged TNTZO alloy exhibits a characteristic marble-like structure composed of assemblies of fine filamentary structures in cross section, and possesses a pronounced fibrous <110> texture along the swaging axis.During annealing at 820℃,nucleated grains firstly appear along the filament-like structures, and then grow up to equiaxed grains, and the <110>deformation texture is gradually weakened and eventually replaced by randomly oriented grains.Although the TNTZO alloy under different state possesses different microstructure and different texture, their general features of corrosion behavior are similar.
