The precision determination of phase diagram by differential thermal analysis with slow scanning rate

The differential thermal analysis with slow scanning rate is essential and important for the precision determination of phase diagram. It takes the typical application of this method on three systems as examples. It is pointed out the expanded peaks and thermal effects from unequilibrium reactions, which are common in the results of differential thermal analysis. It is suggested to use slower scanning rate and keep the sample at certain temperature for a period in situ to separate the close peaks. And it is necessary to combine the microscope analysis and equilibrium alloys to obtain the real phase equilibrium relation and transform information and exclude the unequilibrium thermal effects.
