Study on the crack resistance of sintered ore

Vickers indentation test is used to evaluate the generation and growth of cracks in sintered ores containing different forms of calcium ferrites, and examine the effects of different forms of calcium ferrites on the anti-fracture ability of sintered ore.The results show that the anti-fracture ability of sintered ore is determined by practical fracture toughness of calcium ferrite body when its crystal size is big, whereas it is determined by structure of calcium ferrites in sintered ore,the finer crystal size will lead to bigger cracking threshold, then better anti-fracture ability of sintered ore.Producing finer calcium ferrite during sintering production will be favorable for the anti-fracturing ability of sintered ore.
