Recent Approaches and Developments of New In-Situ Spinel Containing Refractories in Iran
The present paper highlights the recent studies on the three new refractory on the basis of in-situ spinel formation in their matrix.The formation of in-situ spinel behavior and its influence on physical/mechanical properties as well as corrosion resistance was studied in MgO-C (MC),Al2O3-MgO-C (AMC) bricks and low cement refractory castable in the Al2O3-MgO system.The improvement of MC and AMC refractories are reported with reference to Iranian plant experience.
