For an Educational and Industrial Partnership in a Coopetitive World:FIRE

  The objective of this paper is to envisage how an educational and industrial partnership might be reinforced for the benefit of the refractory industrys constituency.The roles of three of the stakeholders,the manufacturers and the users of refractories on one hand and the universitys educators on the other hand,are examined.Finally the activities within the Federation for International Refractory Research and Education-FIRE,are briefly reviewed to show how cooperation and competition can be merged together for the benefit of all.
