Preparation of Light-Weight Mullite Bricks by Coal Gangue and Bauxite
30-60wt% coal gangue was added to raw material to explore its effect on the structure and properties of light-weight refractory fabricated by extrusion method using sawdust as pore former.The bulk density,thermal conductivity (TC) and cold crushing strength (CCS) were tested.Phase composition and microstructure of the samples were measured by XRD and SEM,respectively.The results confirmed that the light-weight mullite obtained with bulk density of about 1.42g/cm3,CCS of about 9 MPa,the thermal conductivity at 300℃ of about 0.347 W·m-1·K-1 were made at 1400℃ when coal gangue is 60wt%.
