Analysis on Used Periclase-Hercynite Bricks for Cement Kilns
Used periclase-hercynite bricks for cement kilns were analyzed by test of physical and chemical index and microstructure analysis.Then the damage mechanism of this kind of brick is preliminarily explored in this paper.The results show that cement clinker corrodes this kind of brick by liquid penetration,mainly due to the alkali salt deposition which led to the densification of the brick and the subsequent thermal shock which made the material structure become loose and flaking.The shifting of iron ions valence and their diffusion play an important role in the bricks destruction,indicating that the stability and corrosion resistance of hercynite need to be exploited.
