Study on Al2O3-ZrO2 Ceramics with High Modulus of Rupture and Thermal Shock Resistance
High Modulus of rupture (HMOR) and thermal shock resistance (TSR) are the main properties for high-temperature ceramic material. In this paper the HMOR and TSR of Al2O3-ZrO2 ceramics and its preparation are studied. It is shown that:Modulus of rupture of Al2O3-ZrO2 ceramics decreases gradually with increasing temperature.Increase of cracks caused by thermal shock in ceramics results in grain boundary widening and porosity increasing. As a result, the strengths of the material at mid-temperature and at high temperature are reduced increased, and the strength at mid-high temperature is reduced. The microstructure plays an important role in the thermal shock resistance of ceramic materials.
