Simulation study on solidification process of AZS melt 33#
By using COMSOL Multiphysics software to simulate the solidification process of AZS melt 33#,the effect of thickness and material of mold on temperature and conductive heat flux of the casting in the cooling process can be studied.The result shows that:with the increasing of mold thickness (TH),the largest conductive heat flux and cooling speed on the surface of casting increases,but the increasing of conductive heat flux and cooling speed will give rise to uneven distribution of temperature and thermal stress easily.Under the condition of mold TH=4 cm and cooling 2400s,SiO2 and Al2O3 mold are easy to cause uneven distribution of temperature on the surface of casting; graphite mold and iron mold are helpful to improve the temperature distribution and quality uniformity; Al2O3 mold,especially iron mold,are contribute to rapid cooling of the casting and improvement of the quality uniformity and production efficiency.
