Factors Affecting the Resilience Towards Natural Disasters in Indonesia Case Study:Padang and Sleman
Most areas in Indonesia are prone to natural disasters.Learning the lessons from the Aceh Tsunami in 2004,areas with high risks of natural disasters are in the process of preparing themselves for the event,by increasing their resilience.The objective of this paper is to explore factors affecting the resilience from literature and the experiences of the practitioners of disaster management in the city of Padang and the district of Sleman.Based on the experience of the practitioners,factors affecting the recovery process can be classified into institutional,social and community,economic,and hazard.
