Risk assessment of Dynamic Positioning System

摘要：

　　Risk assessment of Dynamic Positioning Class 3 (DP3) failures are studied in this article based on FMEA.Practically,DP3 should meet the highest level of redundancy according to its function.Firstly,the system layout of DP3 is studied with respect to risk assessment,and the consequences of failure of DP3 are established;Secondly,Reliability Block Diagram (RBD) is conducted to identify the sub-systems; And the functional FMEA of DP3 and recommendations are proposed.These recommendations contribute to the safety of DP operations of mobile offshore drilling units,and further research can be achieved through system breakdown and RBD result.
